Video of a Mangrove Jack at Wilderness Island

January 30, 2011 by Peter Leave a Comment

Mangrove Jack at Wilderness Island – Scotty Coghlan from Western Angler hooked a good size (2kg+) mangrove jack on fly and egged it right next to the boat and see the video to see what happens next…

Peter Butler knows “not a lot” about fishing…

October 21, 2010 by Peter Leave a Comment

peter butler golden trevally Peter Butler knows “not a lot” about fishing…Peter Butler catches the biggest fish of the day, yippee. A gorgeous Golden Trevally.

The same day we were landing Malibar Groper’s, Estuary Cod’s, Broad Barred Spanish Mackeral’s, Brassy Trevally’s by the dozen and a Jawfish. The strikes were every couple of minutes so it was a real action morning.

Here’s the video of Peter reeling in his catch. He was rapt as he knows “not a lot” about fishing even though he’s Harry Butler’s brother. Harry is the main fishing guide for the Wilderness Island and he literally drove us straight to our catching strip and within minutes we were landing these babies.
