These are the 2 cabins closest to the main camp area. I’d just finished them all off completely only 2 days before we had our 1^st cyclone warning for the year.

I watched this roll front building up inland over the mud flats and thought it looked like a good test run to see if the new cabins could take a strong wind. We copped 47knots and they didn’t move at all. Very solid. 

This cabin is the closest to the cliff edge that overlooks the sea. It has an awesome view, uninterrupted, looking right across Exmouth Gulf. 

Thanks to all the French backpackers for helping dig the holes for the posts(16 in all per cabin).  Each post is set 1.5m into the ground as this cabin is the most exposed to wind.  We think it will probably be the people’s favourite.

Another outlook from one of the new accommodation cabins. Each one has its own unspoilt view with complete privacy. Just need to string up a hammock and put an outdoor lounge on the verandah  and they are the ultimate holiday chalet.

Here’s the view from the verandah. Each cabin has over 3m x 4m of  deck space so theres plenty of room to relax  outside and enjoy the wide open space. Just a short 30 second walk to the beach for a swim or take a fishing rod and catch dinner.  Without a word of a lie, we have landed 20kg plus fish from the beaches at Wilderness Island.

This is one of the cabins that is away from the main camp area a bit. It sits just over the crest of a hill about 60m away.  You can’t see any other buildings from here, just the Exmouth Gulf and the beach stretching away.  We built this one here so that people could be a little more secluded if they choose.

This cabin also is built away from the main area.  You can literally see for miles.  The island kangaroos particularly like this cabin as they can rest underneath in the shade during the heat of the day.  It looks to the north over Tent Island Bay and gives the impression that you are miles away from civilisation, which you are.  We are a bit civilized though.

Wonderful friends on a magic Island, guided onto the big fish by Mick and Shane and skippered on top of the fishing by captain Jim. Each day on the boat was a fun filled event: full of fish and laugher and screams of catching the fish … and the bait fishing by the master of lake mangroves! Kim and Jim in the kitchen were awesome and presented the catches of the day to the ravenous crew. A great victory by the A team out fishing Bushy’s team… Better come back another year and have another crack.
