The fishing in Exmouth, Western Australia is the best fishing in Australia – “Where You’re Guaranteed a Catch… Everytime! (pretty damn close to everytime anyway)
You will have your own Professional Fishing Guide, “Harry” Butler. There’s not much that Harry doesn’t know about these waters. He has an uncanny ability to know exactly where to go to get the catch you’re after. Between knowing the tides, the right spots, the best tackle along with how to work your lure you’re pretty well guaranteed a catch… everytime! (if you don’t it’s cause you weren’t holding your tongue right!)
Not only does Harry “know” where to go but he’s a tech savvy fishing guide with it all plotted out on his GPS so there’s no lost land marks or excuses “I was sure this was the spot”. (By the way, he takes his GPS to bed with him each night so don’t think you’ll get your hands on it)
There’s more of a spiel on Harry on the team page.
Jim will be your host on the island and your charter captain. Jim grew up on a cattle station in the Pilbara region of WA and after traveling and working around Australia he spent some time working on luxury charter boats as a fishing/tour guide in the Kimberly. It was then that he decided to create Wilderness Island.
After thirty years in the region Jim knows the Exmouth Gulf like the back of his hand. He can share with you an intimate knowledge of its history, geography, land & marine environments, and of course the fish species, and their distribution and habits.
Jim will make sure you’re well fed, well looked after or left well alone depending on what you want from your camp host.
Here’s a short list of the fish we catch (There is more, still working on that). We’re adding photo’s and video footage of each and every fish species as we can so you can see more evidence of the plentiful bounty up here in the Exmouth Gulf and at Wilderness Island. Just hold your ‘cursor’ on the ‘The Fishing” tab above and you’ll see the list pop down.
