Wilderness Island is 26 miles from Exmouth in the Exmouth Gulf in North Western Australia. Exmouth itself is located in Western Australia, 1270kms north of Perth, the State Capital.
You can’t access us direct from the mainland so you travel to Exmouth and then we’re straight across the Exmouth Gulf.

Getting to Exmouth:
Road Access -
Exmouth is on the Exmouth-Minilya Road, which runs off the North West Coastal Highway. From the north, take the Burkett Road, 110kms south of Nanutarra Roadhouse. From the south, take the Exmouth-Minilya Road, 152kms north of Carnarvon. The North West of Australia is a large desolate place with long distances between towns, water supplies and fuel. Plan your journey carefully making allowances for the vast distances.
Air Access -
Skywest Airlines operate daily flights from Perth and a twice weekly service to Broome (April to October) to the Learmonth Airport which is 37kms south of Exmouth. There is a shuttle bus which meets each flight and will give you a lift to Exmouth for a small fee. Hire cars are also available from the airport.
Coach Services -
Greyhound operates daily coach services to the north and south of Exmouth.
