The “Bring Your Own Boat” Package:
Best Time: April through to October the weather is milder but can be extended from March through to December.
Bring your own boat and make your own itinerary. We will provide you with an awesome holiday destination and the experience of a life time.
What you do is up to you but we’ll advise you so you get the best out of your stay.
Your day can be spent going on a guided mud crabbing expedition, set out for a marine eco-tour with BBQ lunch on a secluded beach, fishing from the miles of beach at Wilderness, relaxing around the camp, swimming, full use of the kayaks and snorkelling equipment, camp fire at night.
6 nights – $1980 – per person.

“Sport Fishing” Packages:
Best Time: All year round, bearing in mind January to March can be very hot, with the ever prevalent chance of cyclones. We recommend if you are travelling interstate or overseas this period is best avoided.
The fishing is absolutely amazing, with the Mangrove systems and tidal flats really firing up.

7 nights – $4620 – per person.

Best Time: March through to December covers the full season but more importantly it depends on your target species. See our “Your Dream Target Species” form.

Here’s the short list of the different target species in the Exmouth Gulf country –
The offshore shoals the most popular are the Sailfish, Longtail Tuna, Cobia and Spanish Mackerel as by catch.
From the offshore islands we have Spangled Emperor, Coral Trout, big Malabar and Estuarine Cod and other reef fish. During these months these species in particular move in to take advantage of the turtle hatchings from the rookeries on the Gulf islands.
From the inshore flats and creek systems we have the popular Big GTs, Queen Fish, Permit, Barra, Mangrove Jack and other mangrove species. The warm water in the shallow flats and creeks really fires these voracious predators up.
Through certain times we are blessed with Queen Fish, Golden Trevally, Brassy Trevally on the flats, Big bream 4lb+ and mangrove species
Best effort to date is 42 species in 10 days with 138 fish in 1 day.
Different target species have their seasonal peaks throughout the year but it’s certainly possible you’ll hook something out of season.

“Game Fishing” Packages:
Best Time: October to November
*Game Fishing Package is for 4 Anglers maximum per boat.*
During these months Sailfish congregate into the Exmouth Gulf. The offshore shoals they work, lay just 13 miles from Wilderness Island. Sailfish are the main target for these months*, with big Longtail Tuna, Cobia, Spanish Mackerel and Golden Trevally as by catch.
(*On the windy days, at Wilderness Island we have the advantage of being able to fish flats, creeks and hide behind islands and continue to fish for other target species like Mangrove Jack, Queen Fish, and the occasional Barramundi.)
